THE PROMISE depicts a parent and child captivated by the globe. By imbuing familiar cartoon devices with lifelike human emotion, the universally relatable imagery of the sculpture aims to touch upon themes of family, environmentalism, global citizenship, responsibility, and love. Commissioned for Dadu Children’s Museum of Qatar, the artwork serves as an important reminder to adults and children alike that we are all connected by a responsibility to care for and love one another and our home, Earth.
