The traditional Bedouin weaving, Al Sadu, has been a treasured craft in Qatar and a matter of pride especially amongst the local women, who since ancient times, hand weaved the material world that surrounds the family. Be it tents, mats, camel harness or carry bags...it portrayed the peoples’ rich cultural heritage and instinctive expression of natural beauty. In Sadu, these woven geometric and figurative patterns and symbols reflect the traditional tribal lifestyle and the desert environment. IN-Q Gift Shop, presents mainly in the National Museum of Qatar, a varied merchandise line inspired by these patterns of Sadu and dedicate this to the Qatari heritage in an attempt to preserve and promote this intrinsic, beautiful cultural identity.
