Mubarak Nasser Al-Thani (b. 1989) is a multidisciplinary Qatari artist whose work playfully deconstructs urban landscapes using dimensions, colour, geometry, and abstraction. A self-taught painter informed by his BA in International Politics (Georgetown) and MA in Urban Planning (NYU), he is currently pursuing an MFA at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. His practice explores the architecture and cultural symbols of cities, often reimagined through layered brushwork and geometric composition.
A Fire Station resident in 2017-2018 and briefly in New York with ISCP (2021), Al-Thani has exhibited widely in Qatar and internationally, with solo shows Espresso 4 the Road (Fire Station, Doha, 2022) and Committing to Dreamers (Palais des Nations, Geneva, 2019), as well as group exhibitions in venues across Shanghai, Paris, Tunis, and Saint Petersburg.
