Fatima Al Sharshani is a Qatari calligraffiti artist who, with her innovative style, brings the spirit of Arabic calligraphy into contemporary forms. She discovered her passion for Arabic calligraphy in 2011 and has since become a leading figure in combining traditional script with contemporary street art sensibilities. In 2020, she created her first major mural, Al Noor, at Qatar Post Park, commissioned by Qatar Museums under the Jedariart program. The circular design, inspired by the poetry of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, features golden calligraphic elements that evoke the visual and cultural symbolism of a traditional seal or stamp.
Fatima participated in Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture, collaborating with the Portland Street Art Alliance to paint Never Ending / Endless (also known as The Never Ending You) in Southeast Portland. This circular mural explores continuity and infinity through flowing Diwani script, marking her first U.S. public art project. Her work has also crossed into the world of sports design: in 2025, Fatima was commissioned by Paris Saint-Germain to collaborate on distinctive sportswear designs, creating calligraphy featured on their kit — marking the first time Arabic script appeared on the club’s official sportswear.
